Why Tint Factory Uses Solar Gard Window Film
We are frequently asked why we only carry Solar Gard films rather than offering a range of brands at different price points. The answer comes down to what 33 years of installation experience teaches you about where quality separates from marketing.
What Solar Gard Is
Solar Gard is a brand of Saint-Gobain — one of the world's largest building materials companies, founded in 1665. Saint-Gobain's Performance Plastics division manufactures Solar Gard films for commercial, residential, and automotive applications. Solar Gard films are NFRC-certified, meaning their performance claims — heat rejection percentage, visible light transmission, UV blockage — are independently tested and verified, not self-reported.
This matters because the window film market has a significant volume of films with unverified performance claims. A film marketed as "70% heat rejection" without NFRC certification has no independent validation of that number. Solar Gard's NFRC-rated products are tested under standardized conditions and the results are verifiable.
What Solar Gard Preferred Shop Means
Tint Factory is a Solar Gard Preferred Shop — the highest tier in Solar Gard's dealer network. To maintain Preferred status, a shop must:
- Maintain a demonstrated installation quality standard that Solar Gard verifies independently
- Stock and have access to Solar Gard's full commercial and residential film line
- Provide proper warranty documentation and post-installation support
- Meet ongoing customer satisfaction standards
This is not a status that can be purchased — it is awarded based on performance. As a Preferred Shop, every film we install carries the full Solar Gard manufacturer warranty backed by Saint-Gobain.
Panorama Dealer of the Year
The Panorama designation recognizes performance specifically in Solar Gard's architectural film line — the commercial and residential product tier. Dealer of the Year is awarded to the top-performing shop in the region based on product knowledge, installation quality, and customer feedback metrics. We have received this designation, and it reflects the commercial and residential standard our team holds itself to.
What This Means for Your Installation
When Tint Factory installs Solar Gard film on your property or vehicle, the warranty is backed by Saint-Gobain — not just by the local installer. If we go out of business (after 33 years, this seems unlikely), the manufacturer warranty still applies. If the film develops a defect covered under warranty — peeling, delamination, color change, edge lift — the claim is documented and honored through the manufacturer's program.
We provide all warranty documentation at the time of installation, including product specification sheets, NFRC performance data, and installation certificates for rebate applications.
