CERAMIC
WINDOW TINT
Reject up to 63% of heat and block 99% of UV. Solar Gard ceramic automotive films — installed to perfection in Los Angeles since 1991.
THE CERAMIC ADVANTAGE
Los Angeles drivers sit in traffic with direct sun exposure for hours every day. Untreated glass transmits a significant portion of solar heat into your cabin and nearly all UV radiation — accelerating dashboard fading, cracking leather, and making the interior genuinely uncomfortable over time.
Tint Factory installs Solar Gard ceramic automotive films — XenithIR® and VortexIR® — engineered to reject up to 63% of heat while maintaining crystal clarity and preserving cellular, GPS, and radar detector signals. Every installation is backed by a lifetime warranty.

XenithIR® Ceramic
Best-in-class heat rejection. Advanced ceramic technology, no signal interference.
VortexIR® Ceramic
Excellent infrared rejection with charcoal aesthetic that matches factory tint.
HP Supreme
Hybrid construction with exceptional clarity and up to ultra-dark shade options.
HP Smoke Plus
Entry-level performance in four gray tint levels. Verify shade compliance for your vehicle.
CALIFORNIA TINT LAW
Under California Vehicle Code § 26708, the following restrictions apply to passenger vehicles. Compliance depends on the specific window position and the combined transmittance of your vehicle's existing glass plus the applied film. View full statute (CVC § 26708) →
- ▶ Windshield: Aftermarket tint allowed only on the top 4 inches. The area below must remain transparent and colorless.
- ▶ Front side windows: Qualifying clear or colorless film must have a minimum 88% VLT on its own, AND the combined transmittance of film plus glass must meet or exceed the federal 70% minimum. An installer certificate is required.
- ▶ Rear side windows and rear window: No VLT minimum for passenger vehicles. However, if the rear window is tinted, outside mirrors on both sides are required.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the best ceramic window tint in Los Angeles?
For maximum heat rejection and UV protection, we recommend Solar Gard XenithIR® — up to 63% heat reduction while maintaining all electronic signals including cellular and GPS. VortexIR® provides up to 59% heat reduction at a lower price point.
How long does car window tinting last?
Solar Gard ceramic films are warranted for life under normal use. In the Los Angeles climate, properly installed ceramic films typically last 10–15+ years without fading, peeling, or bubbling.
Will window tinting affect my Tesla or EV's sensors?
Non-metallic ceramic films (XenithIR® and VortexIR®) do not interfere with electronic signals, cellular reception, GPS, or radar-based safety systems. We recommend ceramic films for all EVs and vehicles with advanced driver-assistance systems.
How soon after tinting can I roll down my windows?
We recommend waiting 3–5 days before operating the windows to allow the adhesive to cure fully. Allow additional time in cooler or humid weather.
